Right!! Well now it's broke again!! GGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRR I've renamed the car Gizmo because its got gremlins.
Same problem as before... fuel pump not priming.
So today I tried to use a mulitimeter and with the ignition on there is -0.19 V reaching the fuel pump. (I used it on the setting V - the one with a line and a broken line under it, and range 20, if that helps)
I have checked the fuses - none are blown
I started to check earth points but from what peeps have been telling me there seem to be way more than on the diagram i have which locates earth points on RHS and LHS of engine compartment, behind dash, under rear seat, and LHS on luggage compartment.
I only managed to check RHS engine comp one b4 the heavens opened. (btw RHS and LHS refers to looking @ car from behind.)
Anyideas of what i could try next.....
I did attempt to remove the fuel filter off the blue one to change that incase a blockage there was causing a prob ... but i want strong enough!! I dont think that the fuel filter's ever been changed on the red one.... so could it be possible that its blocked causing fuel 'cut off'.... who knows.... I hit it with a hammer anyways and that didnt work... so what ever's up must be technical!!
Anyideas anyone?!

Well, They say when all else fails, Give it a smack with a hammer. And it still didn't work. I'm afraid i can't help you on this one, I ain't got a clue on these SPI or MPI mini's. There's too many leccy bits on them for my liking, and all Auntie Rover managed to do was overcomplicate things. I mean, who in their right minds would put the fuel pump inside the tank, and then put an ECU on the Mini's just to compound the problems. Or is it me showing my age, AGAIN

Thats what I thought! When the hammer didn't work I thought 'ah feck'
A friend on msn suggested getting a wire straight from battery to pump to test if that was acutally working .... is that a good idea? how would I go about it?

hope its not the pump itself, coz they were horrendously expensive when i thaught mine was gone. Sounds silly but the first thing to do is listen to if the pump is whirring properly when u put the key in, n turn it, if it is then i doubt its the pump itself, im no expert mind! And the fuel filters are a sod to get on and off, and be careful, coz even when you do everything possible eg empty n disconect tank etc, theres still a fair bit of fuel seepage, n its rather sudden when your trying to prize it off, i managed to get some in my eye when I did it lol

Nope thats what I mean by the fuel pump not priming... its not whirring when you switch the iggnition on.

hmmm, i think from vague memory that also means tht the fuel pressures not building up, long shot, but worked for one mate of mine with fuel pump issues, try getting someone to whack the tank with theyre hand when your turning the key, fuel pumps tend to go intermittent rather than completley break straight away

Well considering it's only me too batter things... i left the ignition on and whacked tank with hammer... to no avail... made me feel better though!

RIIIGGHHTT, Here goes. At the moment I've found 3 things that can go wrong, so far. 1 Fuel pump. You've tried fixing that with a Tapometer. 2 Relay Module. Has all 4 relays for : Starter, Fuel pump, Main Relay, and the Manifold ptc heater. All in one . 3 Fuel cut off Inertia Swiych. Situated next to the Wiper motor. RESET by pressing the button on the top of the unit. Least likely thing to go wrong, possibly
