' damn...so much shinyness.... along a related line of enquirys.... does anyone know where i could get a seal to go on the panel on the back of the block? (the two removable windows on the block under the exhaust manifold on the head) mine has died and thats where my oil leak is coming from... recon J&L minis could get one for me?

looks very nice! is that hammerite? looks quite glittery? how log did that take you? and how did everyone prep the engine before hand?
Im thinking: maybe pressure washer blast to get the worst off. then spray with degreaser after its started drying a bit, mess it about a bit with an old toothbrush/nail brush. rinse with hose. leave it dry then get painting!
but i have to paint my inner wings and bulkhead aswell. and bits of the bulkhead have Waxoyl on it. and the inner wings are coated with the stuff... will paint stick to it alright? id rather not remove it because its saving the bodywork, but it looks awfull...

Always pull them off straight away as BIKINI said - they hold water which helps the rust breed. I have replaced it with a felt type that is waterproofed on one side and seems to work quite well. Can't really comment on the noise soundproofing as mine is so damn noisy anyway! As I said its not that tidy at the moment and all the alloy and brass is still to be polished up !!! jc
