lawson tried compression tester on it today, all bar 1 quite low 6.5 etc + 1 at 10.5 but would have thought it would be zero if head gasket gone, will still not start + developed a clicking noise now when you try + turn it over

SHE LIVES....it was the points out a wee bit...hence a spark but not a good un....byron adjusted the points and away she went.....shes still a bit spluttery but shes running....whoopeeeeeee

now whos got a leki dizzy they want to sell me....lol

Good news.
Why Don't you try getting hold of a Magnetronic or similar.
Save messing with the points and condenser again.

def going to get rid of the points bit at sometime......when i put them in it was just great to have her going again...

found out it wasnt the points as such...they actually worked ok but the plastic that touches the rotor arm was worn....hence not doing the business....shiny new points and a run to swansea and shes going fine....(touch wood!!!)
