Ive just stuck a HIF38 on my 998 Mini to replace the old HS4 but I'm having some serious issues with it...
The first problem was that fuel was squirting out of the vent pipe which goes down to the base of the subframe, but after a bit of fiddling about with the float level this has just about stopped. The current fault is that after the engine has been running for about a minute (or the time it takes me to think 'Yay! It's working!'), fuel starts dripping out of a different pipe (overflow I think) all over the exhaust manifold.
I've moved the float chamber all over the place so I don't think that could be the problem, but I really would like to know if anyone has had these problems and how to solve them!

Wow! I wish I had one of those tables for everything that went wrong with my Mini..
Yeah the breather is next to the fuel IN pipe and that goes down towards the subframe where fuel is coming out, but theres also fuel coming out of another pipe above the fuel IN and breather.
The dashpot oil level seems to be going down quickly too, any possible reason for this?

Here's how things look atm.. far left - fuel IN adjacent - float chamebr breather? immediatley above - not sure, overflow? right - engine breather

Good news and bad news...
The good news is that I stopped fuel overflowing all over the place! Turns out I'd put the needle valve in the wrong way round :S So I put on some new gaskets and the air filter and tried to drive it to college this morning...
Bad news - The car is just stuttering all over the place, couldn't get it out of first, kept stalling and wouldnt rev in gear. Funnily enough it revs fine in neutral and reverse works okay. Any ideas what's wrong as I don't really fancy driving everywhere backwards...
