Hi guys, Further to the Bristol Mini day the missus has told me we have to "pimp" her Studio 2 (Now named Herb!) First off I found this for an exhaust!! cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160246158922&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:GB:1123According to the guy selling it they have fitted them to Rover Mini's before!! I'm wondering whether a normal large bore link pipe would fit this?? The inlet on the exhaust is 2 1/4" the link pipe is 2". I know I am going to need a new LCB and Inlet manifold. Should just go for the full stage 1 kit! What Hol doesn't know is that me and her Dad have been working without her knowledge on some bits already!! So far we have to fit.... 2 Corbeau Bucket seats - Subframes from Coedy! (Cheers!!) 12 x 5.5" Revolution Wheels And the bits we picked up in Bristol... Chrome Door mirrors Twin Washer Jets in Chrome Polished Alloy Door Furnishings GB Island Chrome Badge for Grill Still to come... Black and Silver Union Jack Roof Decal Winged Badges with matching Union Jack Graphics Gear knob with matching Union Jack Sticker 4 Centre Stickers with matching Union Jack for wheels Dream list... Custom exhaust - See above Rear Seat Covers to match front Custom Dash, Centre Console, Speaker Board - Hopefully made by me! I have the schematics!! Maybe new adjustable suspension Maybe stage 1 kit! I'm off to fetch the wheels next weekend... shouldn't be too long before its all fitted and ready to rock. Hols Dad will come down for a weekend and help me fit it all as a big surprise!! Think that should do it!! What do you guys think?? Sound good? |

Hmmmm... still thinking about the exhaust.... It has a 2 1/4 " inlet... big bore link pipe is 2"... would it fit?? I guess the only way to see would be to get hold of one and find out.

Ok... here are the first pics...     Only mods so far are the door furniture, bonnet stripes and Steering Wheel. And here are the custom graphics that arrived today fitted to the Gear Know and Badges  What do you think?? |

She has no idea!!
I am pooling all the bits together slowly. Picking up the wheels next weekend. Might be a bit tricky as she will be with me, luckily my car is huge and its easy to hide things in the boot!!
It is a clean example... it was resprayed before we got it... but looks in good order. Only 22K on it too!
How did my photos suddenly appear on the page??

All the bits are coming together now!! Wheels are being fitted with rubber... seats are 100% sorted (Few minor repairs needed beforehand)
I have had loads of trouble finding the plastic dome stickers to fit over the graphics on the gear knob, badges and wheels, they are like hens teeth!! Only place I found them has a minimum order of £100!!... have found some watch glasses that will fit the gear knob and badges... just need to sort the wheel centre caps (55mm).
The pitstop will happen this coming weekend. Will get a load of pics up soon as.
I am also halfway through making a custom centre console.. which will be covered in black and blue suede... the theme will continue onto the dash and parcel shelf, but one thing at a time!!
The one thing I am still looking for is a nice exhaust - Hol had a twin DTM on her last mini and wants another one!!
Will keep you all posted on progress!

Ok... so Herb is 99% Finished... for now. Spent two days sorting all the new bits and fitting them! The seats went in no worries. Then we offered the wheel up to the hub... no problem. Then grabbed the nuts... problem! The guy from TMF who sold them to me, sold me the wrong size... they were far too fat for the holes! So after a few visits to local tyre places I was directed to Selective Spares in Barry. Gave him a call and one and a half hours later I had the correct nuts. (Real nice fella to boot!) Then the wheels were fitted no problems. They don't foul on full lock either!! The Badges, Gear knob and Pedals all went on fine. The wing mirrors won't fit... unless we drill holes throught the inside of the door... and drill out the threaded sections on the drivers side. The mirrors are Ital stye jobbers... anyone know of an adaptor you can buy?? We then moved onto the chrome switch panel... and duely snapped part of the choke cable off!! So we need a new choke cable now! But bodged it back together for now. Also the hazard warning lights don't flash... they just stay on when operated?? Then came the roof decal. We sprayed a load of water on and squeegeed it out as we lay the vinyl. The main black cross was no real dilema... then came gapping and laying the corner sections... the corners near the guttering would not lay flat due to the curvature of the roof... then inspiration grabbed me... use a hairdryer! (A foreign object to me - As I am an egg head!) This cured it and soon we had the technique sussed. There are a couple of small ripples and the odd tiny bubble... but for a first attempt, I think it looks good! When Hol came back from a days shopping in Cardiff... she only noticed the roof.... then the badges... then she nearly fell over when she saw the wheels, seats, custom badges etc etc... Judge for yourself... I think you will agree the look of Herb has been somewhat improved!!          Next step is fitting the Twin DTM exhaust supplied by Coedy!! I think that will finish off the exterior nicely... then comes the chrome bumpers, colour coded W&P arches, wing mirrors, centre etc etc!! So what do y'all think?? Tom |

Damn that looks great!
I really like the roof decal with that colour paint.
also... i quite like the black bumpers and the wing mirrors as they are... lol. i even think that some Black W+P arches would look nice aswell. however, different things to different people! lol
Any other plans except the arches, chrome and exhaust? looking great so far though!

Eventually Hol wants some Union Jack door cards in Silver and Black to match... but I haven't seen any anywhere! Then stage 1 kit.
Hol is also deciding whether to have harness's or a rear seat!! I think insurance will dictate this!
