can someone tell me where the throttle potentiometer is please.is it the black roundish thing on drivers side of the throttle body?

it may be the little push switch just behind the actual pedal, by where the accelerator cable goes in....its got 2 wires comming out of it, will try to see what colour they are on mine as its not connected

The throttle potentiometer is a small blak unit which looks like a "P" shape. It is bolted directly onto the throttle spindle and is mounted on the side of the spi injection unit. It is held on by 2 screws and has a multi connector fitted with 3 wires in a small block with a spring clip for attachment.

no not in a rush.it just revs upto 1700 rpm when i take foot off accelerator.i'll check everything ju said and was told it can be taken off and cleaned.so will give that a go

mine did that (mpi) changed all the sensors around the throttle body, ended up being the lambda sensor wires had pinched together.

think i got a spare one here you can try before you buy one if you want, it is an SPI model you got though is it

yes its an spi.thanks.i'll clean mine when i get the chance and will take you up on that if it still aint running tidy
