Hey all.
I am in search of advice/guidence...
As you know, I'd love another Mini, and kindly Phil found me one, sounds a right pukka for what I want.
But...
I am in debt, but a considerable amount. In fact, I'd say 80% of my total income is bills... Which doesn't leave with me with much, and then what I do have, I use on train tickets to see the girlfriend.
Lucky, this is only based on my basic income wage. Where I work now, allows overtime, and on fridays its compalsary!
So in total I do 3.5hrs a week over time, unless I am doing a satruday, and then its 7.5hrs a week (do a sat every other week). So total over time, in an average month (4 weeks) is 22hours. Giving me an extra £250 per month.
So money isn't "that" tight.
Now this is where I need some help in putting my mind at rest...
Do I save for a month, and get this bargin Mini, and dump it in the garage, maybe strip it, and do little bits on it, that I can do for free/cheap, or do I forget getting a Mini for another few months?
I don't want a prim and proper Mini, I want something to tinker with, something I can call mine again...
Differ is between now and when I had the Van, was the Van was my only transport, so its was always eatting money out of me. I now have a Diesel Astra, so I do have a proper car with tow hitch
So with this, I have no need to "hurry" myself to get the Mini done. Therefore, if one month I can't be arsed or afford to do anything to the Mini, then it'll stay in the garage locked up safe, and out of the way...
Thats my thinking anyways...
Unfortunatly, my parents on the otherhand, the old man is ok with it, but the old dear strictly says no, as shes frightened I'll just get myself into more debt "doing" up this next one... and well, I can see why she says it, 'cos the Van cost me close to 8k to build, and I drove it 50 miles, and sold it purely 'cos I got frustrated, and was loosing money each and everytime I spent time with it.
In my head, I'd just like to have it, dump it in the garage, and tinker with it as and when... but is it the right/safe thing to do? or shall I just wait till some of my bills are lower/sorted, and go from there?
Sorry to of waffled a bit, but I'm finding it easier just to write things down...
ta for listening
