Hi guys...
Well, I spent 4 hours with my big sausage hand inside Herbert last night, trying to change the clutch hose. After finally getting the old one out, and shredding my hands to pieces again, I have realised I have ordered the wrong one. The old one was one with a banjo joint going into the slave cylinder. The one I ordered is one that plumbs directly into the slave cylinder. Does anyone know if this actually matters, as the new hose actually fits into the cylinder fine!!??
I have also managed to lose the big retaining nut for the top end of the hose (Dropped between the car body and the subframe... never to be seen again methinks!) and also both of the bolts that hold the slave cylinder onto the clutch housing ( These have dropped into the engine bay somewhere?) !!
Needless to say many cross words were used and the air turned dark blue above Pontypridd for about 3hrs!!
It looks like I may have to take a trip to Barry today and see if I can get the bits from the guy there!!
I very nearly sold Herbert to a passing couple for £5 as he was being bad!!

So... I finally got it all sorted. Put it all together... another hose (The right one with the Banjo) the retaining nut and the two bolts for the slave cylinder plate. Got Hol to jump in and start bleeding the clutch system... Not a lot happened... apart from a sort of hissing sound coming from the back of the slave cylinder where the banjo joins on (What a stupid place to put the bloody join... why not on the side you can get to without dismantling half of the car!). Bugger! Guess who forgot to put the copper washers back in!! So it had to all come off again!! Of course the heavens opened and completely drenched me (But thought "Sod it I am not letting the weather beat me, I am going to do it anyway!") So two completely raw and shredded hands later and its all back together!! I looked like a drowned rat at this point. Hol came out and actuall bled the system and it seems to work and solved the clutch problem. If only the stupid brake servo wasn't in the way it would have made it a hell of a lot easier.
So touch wood etc etc Herb is well again!!

Good to know your clutch is fixed. Yep. It is a stoopid place to put a servo, sadly.
