Hi guys,
Yes Herbert is back... this time he may need a new clutch. Mike Bebb from our local garage said it could just be the thrust bearings... but could also be a new clutch scenario. Basically the clutch pedal stick sometimes when pressed down. Also the pedal is vibrating when you rest your foot on it. Mike did say that the actual clutch seems strong... it does not slip and only stick occasionally!
So... has anyone actually changed a thrust bearing/clutch before?? Is it a tricky job?? If anyone has any experience of doing this any advice would be good. Or if anyone fancies changing one for a custom built centre console let me know... Its a verto stylee clutch.
Cheers guys.

Hmmm. I've changed a Non verto clutch loads of times. The procedure is practically the same for a Verto type, except there's a dirty great big Brake Servo which gets in the way of things. The hardest part is getting the bolts out of the WOK, (the clutch cover). Ladies hands required for that task. A flywheel puller is also needed otherwise you'll be peeing against the wind. And a dirty great big breaker bar. That's when the servo gets in the way.

I've done three metro clutch's and thats easy enough when the engine's in situ,
a mini..... very tight but allegedly do-able
