Genuine Mini enthusiasts shouldn't need the inducement of a free entry ticket to attend Mini shows in my opinion.
True, it eases the cost of attending shows what with todays monetary crisis.
I appreciate the genuine reasons why some members cannot attend and sympathise fully with Phil trying his utmost to muster some replacement Minis to put on the seriously depleted Stand at Combe.
I've been doing shows for over 10 years now and it is very embarrassing having a half empty, or to put a positive spin on things half Full stand.
A new thread will be posted soon to discuss with members the best way forward so this situation does not arise again.

This is really unfair, The person or persons involved should be named and shamed and not be allowed on another stand of SWM

 unfortunately unforseen things do happen with people + can't be helped ( that's life ) i too had to pull out of show where kernal was'nt ready but always try to let club know well in advance, but alot of people who put their names down have pulled out for very little reason + needs to be addressed for future events to save this happening again to the club. if you can't make it to a show in which your name is down for club stand can people please give as much notice as possible to save some of the embarresment of cancelling a large stand etc + replacement names being found in time for show  thankyou boycie

Have to agree with all thats been said above and as Mini owners we all know that the unexpected can happen at the most inconvenient time and totally scupper all the best laid plans for attending shows but there is absolutely no excuses for not letting organizers know when it happens.  Saying nothing until the last minute, or saying nothing at all shows a total disrespect for all others who might have liked to have attended but were put off by the prospect of the event being over subscribed.  Any member likes to think that he or she is getting a bargain by having free entry into a show by being on a Club Stand but putting your name down to attend with just that intention is not acceptable at all!  None of the major shows are exactly local to SWM and everyone has to fork out for the increasingly expensive fuel needed to get there and back so the cost of entry compared to that is insignificant!  People who trawl different Mini Clubs with the aim of just getting free entry to a show are not the sort we need in SWM and their loss would be no big deal.  I suggest we don't issue any free passes to anyone in the future - any free passes obtained should be sold within the Club at face value and all proceeds put toward Club funds for the benefit of all members and not just the grabbing few!!! jc |

a few things happened in my life, as it dose, !!!!!!!!!  my red hot mot ran out, im trying to sort flubber out, ( like ive gotta tell you lot! lol  and i hate attending mini shows NOT in a mini, (i get jellous) so whats the point!!!!!!! dont forget the photos tho!!!!! ;D ;D ;D and have a good time, thats the main,,,, |
