I found out last week that a mate of mine in work is a very talented artist, has multiple qualifications, degree's etc etc, he offered to do a painting of my car for me (blod) and i readily agreed, he has had comissions for book illistrations and regularly sells his art in exhibitions. he brought some of his work in to show me and I was blown away, today he brought in the sketch of my mini, and Wow its amazing, obviously.... i'm getting mate's rate's but i asked him what he would charge if others were interested, he explained about the length of time involved and the costs etc etc and said that for a friend of mine he would do a watercolour for £80 and an oil for £110. I know its not cheap but considering the time and costs involved he said it would be like him working for under a fiver an hour. I'll be having my finished painting late next week / early following week, and will gladly show anyone interested, I'm not on comission or anything here, just thought some may be interested.. further details upon request

My painting is finished, hard to put into words really, but absolutly awesome sums it up.
bought a frame and mount this afternoon, he's going to frame it for me tomorrow and i'll hopefully have it to show off for the weekend.
took him a total of 17 hours to complete, the detail is amazing, and at a cost of £80 that works out at paying him £4.70 ph.
i'll try and photograph it tomorrow to show y'all
