Has anyone any ideas about what was done to 'convert' engines? I believe mine was also re-chipped.Any information would be appreciated .

Nice one LJ. There's a good possibility that Downton have kept a record of all the cars that they have sold and or modified in recent years.

i`d be interested if the did keep records...mine was supposed to be tuned by them but wasnt too sure as she was a spi.....(i got the nice sticker though !!!!)

I tried contacting the current 'Downton'firm,but was informed that they had no records of the original company and what they did to convert the standard engines.Thanks for trying 1jonez-I still live in hopes. Did over 600 miles this weekend.She went like a dream!!

Good to hear the Cooper ran perfectly. Surprised the current Downton owners don't have any records of their more recent work. This is a long shot Brian, i'll have a look in some old Mini mags as i'm pretty sure there have been articles written about the current firm.

Anyone remember when Downton Tuning was resurrected.?? It was sometime in the early to mid nineties, i think.

Still looking Brian. Found some small ads about their services which included modded cylinder heads for the MPIs, but not much on all their tuning packages..
