hi, i replaced the engine bushes a few months ago with great dificuty as the one end on the bulkhead would not come out at all ,just turned and turned anyway, the one on the engine has gone again ,but in the kit i got ,the steel inserts didn't come with so i used the old ones ,i cant see this being the problem ,why have they gone so quickly ?

possibly the lower engine mountings are worn and have acclerated the wear on the new top ones

Where did you get the new bushes from? Original bushes from good Mini suppliers should last a while, so should Polyflex bushes.
Just don't fit hard poly bushes though as they put too much strain on the bolt and it'll snap off in the block.

got them from a local garage ,might have been there a long time !
will have a look at the bottom ones too thanks,
wish i had a lift!
