A bolt extractor you need, drill a hole then whind the bad boy in and it should undo the snapped bolt.
I've got them up here but by the time you drive up you could have used that petrol money to go to a shop like halfrauds and buy a set.

phil, dont go for the cheap version of a bolt extractor, snap that in the thermo, and ur trully stuffed then! and you need the right size hole for the right size extractor,, its easy to do tho,,,

but as Irish was saying be careful as you don't want them snapping off I used on of these on the top engine steady stud as it had snapped off, but the extractor snapped off in there too and its still in there til this day ;D

I imagine it's be worth spraying a load of WD40 at the remains to try and ease it up a bit?

Hmm. Do you know of a local workshop / garage that will lend one to you. An old fashioned type of motor factors might keep them in stock.

When you use the extractor try heating the stud at the same time. This way worked for me as you don't need as much pressure to undo and stops the risk of snapping the tool.

Extractor snapped What are my choices now? drill it out and have new thread taped into it? Swap head for another 998 ? Or swap head for 1275 head which I have here, ( what else would need to be done ?
