My xbox has broke and someone told me it is the graphics card
Where can i get this fixed? i dont want to pay microsoft £80

How old is the X-Box, because I've heard there was an issue with the earlier types breaking down after getting hot? Oh and I assume we're talking about an X-Box 360 here? It's something to do with the glue (or whatever it is) that bonds the circuit board together and I've heard people have repaired their own units?  |

you'll be hardpushed to get a speciffic xbox GPU for £80....
If you send it off to MS theyll fix the problem or send you a new one. and eitherway im pretty sure they will give you a years new warranty if they fix it.
If its the common fault with the GPU you will have no chance of fixing it yourself because its the solder joins that distort and snap. each solder join is a bit thicker than the average human hair and theres around 300 (may be more can't remember). so unless you have a sodering rig capable of fixing that I would send it off to the big boys...

We sent High tower's in when it died (no video - only sound) They sent us a new (probably reconditioned) unit. With 1 years warranty. They arranged to have it picked up by courier & returned it in the cost & gave us a number to track where it was & what was happening. Think it took about a week from pick up to return, so it was worth it. (Dont think it was £80 though - I think it worked out cheaper than that??)

buy a ps3  sorry couldn't resist, used to it from other forums lol. I'd get it sent off tbh, probs easier, hope they fix it properly or give you a good new one. |
