As far as im aware NKG (or whateverit is) do two sorts, the 'normal' sort and a 'hotter' sort. I know the 'hotter' sort are recomended for seriously high compression, or seriously low compression (such as turbo builds) but thats about as much as I know...
one of my mates that used to have a 1380 moorespeed engine just used to use normal ones?

A quality coil coupled with split fire plugs and good points/distributor set up is always the best action I find.

As my Mini has electronic ignition (as standard), I've always used NGK BPR6ES spark plugs. I change them every 12,000 miles and I've not had any problems at all. I generally buy them from Halfords and the packaging has '071' (or is it '710' as I can never remember?) stamped on the front. You can check which ones suit best as they have an application book/guide there.

ngk are definately 1 of the better plugs to use as they specialize in that product where as the likes of champion etc are jack of all trades with all different products + are far less better quality. always remember 1 of our customers bringing in bottom half of a champion spark plug + pics of his jag bonnet where the porceline had seperated from metal + shot through his bonnet with the pressure. nice little claim by customer ;D

Well if there is still a miss after you've changed the plugs,
Try replacing the ht leads (Mini Spares sell fantastic red Lumenition leads, part no: 'HV22').
Then there's the dizzy cap, rotor arm and unless your Mini has electronic ignition, you'll also be needing to change (and set) the contact breaker points. Plus don't forget about the condenser too.
