Drop gears or Transfer Gears are what takes your drive from the end of the crankshaft to the gearbox. There are 3 in total, Primary gear on the Crankshaft, Idler gear just underneath and below that is the 1st motion shaft gear. This gear fits on the end of the gearbox Mainshaft the 3rd motion shaft. Simples really.

Simples really. I think mine are rattling as I can hear a chattering noise when idling after a long run. The noise does seem to go if I press the clutch or increase the revs slightly though.
