Right, next week I'm going to be stripping cleaning and painting the bit on the brake servo behind the resivoir, the big round bit lol. How do I get to it with minimal effort, and is it possible without bleeding the brakes? I need access to the whole front face of it, not necessarily out of the car, but if thats no more effort then I will do. Think its two nuts holding the resevoir to it, but not really sure what to expect to be honest!

One tip, Paint it in place !!! I tried taking the one off jamie's and it sheared the studs new pedal box was needed which was a lot more hassle than having a shiney resivoir

you can unbolt the master cylinder from the servo and remove the servo with out having to disconnect the brake lines. the brake lines will probably hold the cylinder in place but its probably best to support it.

Ok so to get to the servo and paint it in place I remove the master cylinder from the front of the servo and support it off to one side somehow then paint the front of the servo? How much more work is there in removing the servo itself from the car? Just more bolts? I'd rather it come out to be honest, because I usually take a couple days prepping then painting parts. Thanks for the warning though phil ill be extra careful I promise ;D
