I gave our Mini a good wash yesterday in readiness to take a few pictures for the agreed value on my insurance policy.
Apart from being well knackered afterwards because the sun was blindingly hot (plus I had to wash the family hack too), I got loads of nice comments from people passing.
One bloke said it was in great nick, a little girl who was walking by with her mother shouted 'Mini look a Mini!!!' and a couple of youngsters claimed they'd owned an exact same model as mine but wrote it off in an accident. Mind you, those 2 youngsters were well off their faces on something (hopefully booze), but after they'd gone I told Marie that they were lying Chavs and it was probably a Vauxhall Nova. Ha!
Trouble is all the attention makes me paranoid and so I wasn't settled until the Mini was locked up in the garage.
Oh and I had to put 2 little kiddies straight when they walked past and said 'look at that little car, look at the little seats'. Yes I just said 'hey, it's bigger on the inside you know!'.
;D

You say a mini stands out in a crowd although everytime I park it in a car park my heart skips a beat when I'm walking in the general direction of the and I can't see it untill the last minute. just me? probably

But they do draw lots of attention and I'm just worried that it may draw the wrong type of attention. Especially since Corina's had her Mini damaged by persons trying to break in and possibly steal it? Either way, even my misses was getting paranoid because she claimed the same car had past us several times and they were looking at the Mini. So even she was glad when it was put to bed in the garage.

I can remember the time a good few years back when we went camping in Cornwall and along a country lane there was a little bungalow with a Wolseley Hornet and a Mini Pick-Up outside. They were both in fantastic condition and so we stopped and I started taking pictures. Next thing a bloke appeared and started locking the Minis and then gave me a disapproving look. I mean I was with Marie and Katy (we only had Katy at the time and she was only 4 years old) and we were in our Mini, so naturally he should have thought we were just Mini enthusiasts?
