if you go through a classic insurance company yes probably however. it kicks you in the nuts if you get a classic policy....as ive found out... they dont give you no claims.. meaning if you ever try and leave them for another company all you will get is quotes for a few grand...

Plus none of the specialist classic companies will touch a 17 year old

F&J im with mind. apparently quite a lot of classic insurers do it this way, as they expect older people with protected no claims anyway to be their main customer they said they can send out a letter confirming i made no claims for 'X' number of years when i was with them. but that isnt worth the paper its written on... means im locked in now and have no chance of finding cheaper anywhere else... ever...

should have checked before really..... just remembered youve got a cage in it. that will raaaape you =/
could try the companies in the back of the 'fast car' and 'max power' mags, they usually aim for young drivers with mods... but youll be hard pushed to get it anywhere near 1000 and thats without declaring the mods (and because yours is so modified i really really really think you should declare them, or they will flat out cancel your insurance if you get in a donk..)

Also remember that the book price for a Mini is only £300 so agreed value is a very important feature to have on the insurance...

I've had an 'agreed value' policy on my slightly modified 1990 Mini Cooper with 'Mini Magazine Insurance' for a few years. I've only just renewed it for this year and I only have to supply them with updated photo's and information every 2 years. I don't know if they'd insure a 17 year old though? But I'd give them a try anyway: - www.insureyourmini.com/

the minis cost me £100 a year each, fully comp and agreed value, the transit is £200, on a normal policy,, thats why the minis are so cheap, because i state my transit as a daily driver,

I tried Carol Nash...£250 ish not cheap, thats with 12 years ncd!!! Ive got it down to £179 with churchill tho & that includes breakdown cover so it looks like it'll have to be them - but I'm still 'negotiating' with some other insurers - there's a guy called Toby who is offering me a policy with AXA for £190 - with breakdown, protected no claims & legal cover, I'll just leave him stew a bit longer ring him tomorrow praps & tell him churchill have offered me a better quote & see what he can do!! You know it makes sense!! Lol ;D

I know! Does mini mag do it as standard or do you have it as an extra Ive run it thro on line & its just over £190 so if that includes agreed value its very good, I was going to ring them tomorrow & find out. Its due 1st july so I'll have to sort it out tomorrow

Well you have to request it and then they send you the necessary paperwork.
As long as you don't ask for more than 5 grand agreed value, then they'll only want a list of any restoration or repair work done since buying your car and 6 recent photographs.
Once they've processed the documents, your Mini will be covered for the agreed value (I tend to say 5 grand just in case).
If you want it covered for more than 5 grand, then you'll need it inspected by a recognised car club official and for them to sign the documents with the value they rate it at.
