personally i'd keep the rc40 but replace the middle box with a link pipe, it gives a nice sound and isnt to loud like the twin dtm which does my head in on long motorway runs etc

i had a 998 DTM....deafening on the motorways....
however...around town I miss it a bit.... lol.
a dtm with a center silencer would probably sound really nice actually...

what bore are the tailpipes on all of these "too loud" dtms? ours is 2" at the end and it's loud when you're going for it, but much quieter when you're not. well that's how it seemed to me while I was following it! Dad may say otherwise! www.youtube.com/watch?v=B36rDTDxx1w

2" mine was. its fine....as long as your not on the motorway...
the main point when i decided to go for something different was getting up at 6ish to leave at like 7am for a show that was up the top end of the M4... 3hours driving while tired with 'BRAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW' got a bit boring... then after the show I felt even more tired and then I had to drive another 3hours back going 'BRAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW' which really ruined me, id be in bed by about 8ish...
but then again maybe I was expecting too much lol.

sounds a plan I would look into fitting a cherry bomb or something into the DTM system in the center tunnel, that should take the brawww off of it on the motorways... lol

I love my 2" DTM but it does get a bit of a bore on long motoway journey as Coedy said. I drove up to Himely Hall (about 3.5hrs drive) and when i got there my ears were ringing. But i do still love it...!

I bought the 3" pipe its LOUD at around 65-70 on the motorway i think its fine just a deep burble ... I was a little worried before putting it on because i thought the loss of back pressure would drop the performance a bit but im sure its gone the other way it seems much better at top end than before

surprisingly I found that with mine! around town I lost performance (a huuuge flat spot appeared after fitting it) but once it got to 50 it went like a train!
Mind you the new one is designed properly so it feels at least like ive got the best of both worlds... but like ive said... deep down, I do miss my DTM....

i know what you mean with the flatspot but my engine could do with a tune and ive got a small air leak which isnt helping it. Cant wait for the next time i have to go to newport to dap it through the tunnel

I've got a DTM on mine well I think it is anyways . I had it as a straight through up untill about 2months ago as you could here it for miles away literally, any how I had to put a silencer on it as the neighbours didn't like being woke up at 6AM when I went to work lol shame though made it sound like an animal.
