he deleted his account, had been a member for a while before he left im just look ing for answers, so riddle me this? this has been on my mind since monday! 1, how come we had ex members (those pair of idiots) as members on our forum,and the members dident know, after they started a breakaway groupe(who let them back in) after they brokeaway to form a new club? your ether with the club or not! thats just my opinion by the way, and im sure if there was a vote they would have been black balled, by me anyway, or i would have left, so we have ex members sneaking around our club and we dont know about it, by the way im on here 24/7 2, how come the ex member who wrote those disgusting posts in the evening post was STILL A MEMBER and wasent banned the 2nd time??? dur! 3 how come sniper can post as a guest?  yes i was on line when he posted, answers on a post card please, im not a happy bunny, im just thinking security on here is down the pan! for all concerned, to the top! |

1 & 2 are very hard to police,
No 3....
I was also online when sniper put his post up.
Sniper then deleted his/her account after posting and therefore now shows as guest.

Correct me if I'm wrong ( I probably am) but if you join with a differnt email account perhaps whoever accepted them didnt know who they were?? I mean I could be a good looking blonde with a fab figure & you wouldnt know till you met me!!!  (What I'm trying to say is its easy to pretend you're someone else in cyber space  ) |

Irish, no one can answer you because theres no one about with ip access as Phil and Corina are away, even if they wernt away you can not blame them as manualy screening every new members IP would take weeks. Its a shame for you to delete your account over some "censored" fannying about over a newspaper article and im sure the bride and groom of the day will feel the same when they check back when they come back on here to post up their pics from the day.

There's really no need to worry about muppets who are out to cause trouble, because unfortunately they are on all car forums and members of car clubs.
Just ignore them, because their not worth it and carry on doing what you enjoy.
I'm sure it'll all get put right when Phil gets back.

I was obviously the last one too hear about the break away club, members from here joined there well before I knew anything about it, I did my best to stop them advertising and knocking us as soon as i found out about it. I believe the same goes for all the other staff members. 2. I try and monitor every new members i.p, address to make sure that we can keep an eye on old trouble makers making new accounts. this does take hours, and this one obviously slipped through the net, As the two people responsible for all the hassle have been house moving / swapping over the last few weeks there is no way it is possible to know their I.P. address as it changes with every computer/ location. 3. Sniper did NOT post as a guest. Guest's have no way of posting. they joined a month ago and then deleted his account after posting. ( see other members post who have deleted their account and they show as guest too. i am gutted you have deleted your account, but seeing that 4 of the 5 staff members are away on holiday you could have given a bit more time for a reply. Gar is totally new to staff and I have not had the time to show him how to work on the tech side of things yet and Taff has tried his best to explain and deal with the hassle too. Hope this clears things up a bit. We try our best but have never claimed to be perfect  |

I would like to think Irish had all this on his mind for the good of the club,
But to keep bumping his queston to the top again and again and then delete his account is over the top...
I like Irish and see him as a valuable member, but feel he's the one in the wrong this time..

I am just disappointed that 'Sniper' or other 'members' have done what they set out to do & caused trouble again. As we said when it happened last time - we are stronger than this - we need to pull together & rise above them. As far as IP addresses go (or whatever theyre called) its unfair to expect one person to monitor everything that goes on, as Phil says if they use a different computer / address they can remain anonymous for a long time & then jump out & cause trouble when they want. However, in future, it may be a better idea not rise to the bait & ignore them - they'll soon get fed up if they've got nothing to argue against Rant over! |
