right then for some reason my car is refusing to play ball again i have just fitted a new ( second Hand ) heater assembly and for some reason i cant get any heat through it i have boiling hot pipes up to the hot and cold valve then just luke warm the other side, which dont make sense as its just a hole going through from one side to the other i have tried switching the pipes(on the heater side) and its still the same (is there an in and out with the matrix pipes ) could there be an air lock in the matrix this one has got me , and my brain has gone numb now thinking cheers gar

sounds like an air lock only way I know is to have the engine running with the rad cap off, and with the heaters switched on keep squeezing the pipes untill it is blowing hot air.

Or you need a new thermostat. But I doubt you've get heat up to the heater tap if you did have a dodgy thermostat?

managed to sort this , dont know how realy but all i done in the end was to take off the inward hose off the heater to make sure i had water coming out, reconected it then took off the outward hose to check if the water was flowing through freely ( if not matrix is blocked ) reconected it , pumped the hoses under the bonnet a few times feeling if they were getting warm ( rad cap off ) to check for air and also top the water up if needeed and there we have it warm heater
simple !!! :-)
after a week of trying lol

So that's another trick to try coopdog. Remove your radiator cap, start the car up and let it idle until the coolant starts to bubble up a bit and then replace the cap.
