learnt to drive in a mini, went straight over the cauldra roundabout with out looking! didnt even slow! never seen my dad go for the handbrake so quick ha ha ha
other time was we were driving home from my nans and the brakes went so dad took over driving and got us home on the handbrake alone! scary lol
braking down on the m4 in the rain! scary really scary!
oh and once i drove from abbergavveny to cardiff with my boot open! no idea how! my laptop was in the boot tools everything! luckily nothing fell out, people were beeping and waving and i waving back thinking how nice lol!
no accident but thought i would share these as they make me giggle, dnt think any other car can bring you as much smiles from bad times as a mini!

Some daft woman didn't look right at a roundabout, used my passenger door as a parking spot. Twisted door frame, dented door... They wanted to write it off!!!!
We didn't let them... *smug*.... Roxie is still going strong! ;D

back in the 70 s i spent many nights fitting a fibreglass front to my 850 mini ( bought off a raf bloke, it had more gauges than a vulcan bomber!). driving down new rd in porthcawl, i momentarily took my eyes off the road to tune the radio into radio luxembourg, when i looked up a brand new escort mk 2 had opened its door and with no time to avoid it i smacked the door off and the owner was left holding the door handle. i thought i would be gutted about the demolished front end but i was more upset about the fresh anti dreeze that was peeing into the storm drain. to make matters worse it was a mate of mine who had borrowed his mums car for the night, woops

;D I've done the boot one a few times too But leaving the boot open for extra luggage space was an early feature on the Mini? At least for 1960's models with the flip number-plate mounting. ;D

not a mini accident but another classic car 2.8 capri when i was a youngster ( no sarky comments phil or irish ) i decided to drive my capri knowing the brakes were not how they should of been + was traveling through porth town centre when a radio rentals van decided to break in front of me suddenly where i then realised i had no brakes at all + went into the back of him where he jumps out + shouts in middle of town i seen you looking at them girls + laughing his head off. exchanged details etc + decided to limp my car home + got as far as pontypridd by humphries coaches old depot when a copper then decides to pull me for having a smashed wing + headlights + so pulled in on the corner of the hill heading down to the coach depot + putting the car in reverse gear so handbrake would hold etc + while the copper was booking me for the damage on the car even though i said it had only just happened he asked me to take the car out of gear so did + left the door open incase any probs + while panicking over this cos handbrake was also crap the car did manage to hold thank god. then of course some prat wanted to get past + could'nt cos of the door being open + yes you guessed it the copper decides to slam my door shut where my car decides it wants to roll down the hill into humphries garages wall just to add insult to injury + the guy who wanted to get past was wetting himsilf with laughter recieved fine a couple of weeks later + had a short detailed event of wa happened etc. the copper had written " asked defendant to pull his car over + while inspecting the vehicle the defendant was asked to remove the car from gear + did so willingly + while shutting the door the car proceeded off down the hill unnacompanied by driver or anyone else in the vehicle wheras the car then smashed through the wall at bottom of the hill " think taking the urine
