hi all im having trouble with the mini again. this time it makes a strange noise between 2000 and 4000 rpm i have no idea what it could be! i have a 1993 cooper 1.3i and dont want to have to pay a huge mechanic bill just to find the problem thanks all alex

its definately coming from the engine! and is sort of like a rattle

its not just when im accelerating it just keeps going until i drop below 2000rpm. does any one know where i can get the correct type of filter if thats the problem? thanks alex

Hellfrauds... H103 - I think.
But that might not be the problem... could a number of things, such as tappets, valves, gearbox, cam, anything really - whats the milage?

I'm not sure on this one. The worst case scenario could be the primary gear or more likely the Idler gear bearing collapsing. Does the engine make a screaming sound when it's ticking over.??

na it only screams at high revs in low gears and at around 4500 in 4th
