Until Megajolt was mentioned on this forum I'd never heard of it before. Sadly I'm an old git who's got a fetish for points and a feeler gauge. But, on saying that, one of my projects will be fitted with one of those Lumenition contactless systems. Afraid i can't help you on this one VB.

As yet another 'old git' I'm afraid I've got to agree with Dai on this one, never heard of Megajolt either, Have used Luminition a couple of times in the past and found them a godsend compared with points.

yep i've got it and its brilliant. theres a few pic of my set up here www.minifinity.com/index.php?module=v4bJournal&func=journal_view&uid=1151&mode=detailits a hell of alot more relable than a coil etc as its not affected by damp infact alot of landrover people use it because its submergable (sp), also it isnt affected by wear like on the cam drive. plus except for changing ht leads there is no need to touch it once its been installed. trust me once you have it you will never go back to dizzys

theres alot of information on megasquirt (ms) over on turbo minis www.turbominis.co.uk/forums/index.phpthe problem with injection on the mini engine is its siamese(sp) ports which cause all sorts of fueling problems when it comes to injection. Rover didnt even manage to get it working correctly and as a result cylinders 1&4 run lean on all injection models. There are a few people are working on a solution for megasquirts and have nearly cracked it. there is also www.canems.co.uk/index.htm who clam to have solved all the problems and it runs using the standard MPI manifolds, injectors etc, not heard of any 1 with this system yet tho.

was relativly simple the hardest part is mounting the trigger wheel and vr sensor once you have them sorted the rest is childs play. i got all the ford bits from a scrapyard cost about £30 iirc. the price from trigger wheels is good for a ready build ecu i paid only a bit less on ebay 2 years ago. i'd recomend you go for the map load sensing option as it provides a more accurate measurement of actual load where as tps just tells it how much the butterfly is open.

ah i see fair enough! so if MJ plays up you just stick on the old coil and leads and you can limp it home! good thinking! i may take you up on the map and the nose about the trigger wheel link doesnt work I found this site though: trigger-wheels.com/store/index1.htmlwhich one of those would i need? im guessing all thats needed for the sensor bracket is a piece of steel or something?
