Hmmm, that's a strange one. Has the car dropped in height on that side as well.? The only way that the wheel could be closer to the wheel arch (at the front) is if the tie rod has been shortened. Make sure the tie rod is straight. It connects the bottom arm to the front subframe forward crossmember.

teardrop mountings are the 2 subframe mounts that connect the subframe to the front panel. Some of the later mini's like mine have extra shim spacers between the mount and the front panel

Had a simaler problem on one of my old mini's last year, looked great but drivers side was rubbing on the front arch, changed the cones, shockers, knuckle joint but was still the same, Only found out later that the front drivers side had previously had a very light bump and had pushed the wing back just a few mm. which was causing it. If it isnt actually rubbing and everything is in order it should be fine to drive

have a look at the distance on the tiebar thread that is showing, one looks more than the other
can you clean up the threads on both sides with a wire brush and take a couple more photos for us to see

Dont think its the arch, measured from b post to middle of the wheel is deff out, will bring it down tomorrow phil.. just been out to have a look the subframe seemd to be square so what could it be, and can i adjust the tie rod to compesate or would that mess up the complete front suspension & is it even possible

Mine is similar, but not quite as drastic as that. Its rather annoying as it keeps hitting the wheel arch as snapping them if i hit a bump with the wheel turned a bit. Lucky there only like £5 each haha.
