Ouch. So the bolted end goes into the flywheel. Is the spacer sitting in a machined recess in the flywheel.

Nope, I have no spacers at all. Wasn't given any when I bought the flywheel.
The bolted end is the flywheel yep.
What you see in the picture is, the backplate with the clutch plate sandwiched between, and the flywheel on top. What u see poking up is the lobe of the back plate.
I was bolting the flywheel directly to the back plate. Making the clutch VERY VERY tight, S no wonder I ruined my thrusts and have no clutch!

Yep. Those drive straps should be level with the lug on the pressure plate. So what's holding the straps off the flywheel outer face.

It looks like a small steel? spacer. I am keeping it there, as thats how it was when the flywheel came. I'll get some bushes tomorrow, I've remeasured it, and I only need 4mm bushes. So it shouldn't be too bad

darn darn darn darn darn!!!
I did it wrong. I never lifted the back plate off the worksurface to allow the clutch plate to "float". Once I rasied the back plate, off the surface so the clutch plate was off the bench, I found that the back plate was nice and flush with the drive straps.

Okay. Let's start from scratch. I found a complete flywheel assembly, Standard S type earlier and did the spacer test with the straps Pressure plate and flywheel and as expected the straps all lined up. Run it past me again as to what parts and system you're using, IE Pre verto Or verto. IE Are all the parts compatible.

I think I sorted it. I never rasied the backplate off the worktop to allow the clutch plate to "float". Fitted it altogether, need 1mm spacers in the end on the Back plate horns. Its back together, and feels sooo much smoother

I've also tweaked the C Clip on the crank tail, as it seemed of made its self bigger....
