after fixxing the head gasket , the rocket cover and oil cap have a mayonaise in it... been told it could be water in the oil , but would have water got in the oil? :S
um should i clean the rocker cover and replace the rocket gasket for a new one also.

Also, how much driving does the Mini actually do?
Is it a pootle to town and back? or are they lonnger journeies?
Reason I ask, if t=hey are short trips, it might be just condasation and oil vaopr mixing. If your doing long journeys, then u have water in the oil.
As JC said,. u did change the oil n water after the head gasket?

we changed the oil and filter a week before the mini actually broke down then it was not fixed for like a month.
so it hasnt been driven for a month or so. and normally its a daily driver so its just a out n about car really . not so much a short or long trip if that makes sense :S?

You have to change the oil and filter after you change the head gasket Danni so as to get rid of the watery oil that leaked into the engine from the blown gasket!
A good long run would'nt do it any harm either!
Once you do that the Mayonaise should dissappear

oh should i give the cover a clean inside aswell then ? and change the rocket gasket while ive done that? Shouldn't need to change the rocker gasket unless it leaks oil out over the engine. Wouldn't do any harm to take the cover off and wipe it out though jc

aye tis clearing up now jc must have been a small amount of water had gotten in . going to check all my levels later tonight the car got up to 70mph easy yest so its running nicely
