that aint no over sill son, it does look like by the picture, we cut the sill out and bought a genuine outer sill and inner sill. making sure theres, no rust and its strong enough for the vtec. also in the engine bay we've spot welded an inch, left an inch, get it all extra strong.... i dont want to pull off and the shell falling apart

They trap water like a bitch, no drainage holes, thus rotting your inner & outer sills

their ability to rust in no time is the main thing most people worry about as they take the inner sill with them. the other negative which i think is worse is they weaken the shell, if you look at a proper sill it creates a small box section which is pretty strong, but with an over sill they extend down to under the floor which make a much bigger box section which is not as strong. heres a quick drawing to show you what i mean.... i have driven several minis with oversills and under hard cornering you can feel the body twist also in the engine bay we've spot welded an inch, left an inch, get it all extra strong.... not quite sure what you mean here, what have you welded in the engine bay?

If you do waxoyl them Keep waxoyling them as regular as possible, the reason they are rust traps is because no drainage holes which means condensation, so there will always be moisture in there if the car is used.. If your lucky they may last a while..
Would be a shame to see this taken off the road again a year or so after completion for new sills. (especially if you get a pearl colour like in the poll because it will be a nightmare to colour match).

To get the waxoyl in your gonna have to drill several holes along the inner sills.
