Sold Jonsey a Hif 44 with a daytone inlet manifold. Hes put it on and there seems to be a diffrence between the width of the out let & inlet manifold so much that petrol is running down the back of the block.. any sugestions Never come accross this before

if its what i`ve had before...the inlet is a smaller depth than the manifold making it almost impossible to secure the inlet properly...as a temp measure i cut a few washers in half and used them to fill in the gap on the inlet and hence tighten the inlet manifold up....
there is probably a better fix out there but this was done to get the car running. ( and stayed like it for quite a few months if i remember right)

You can buy special stepped washers which will help cure that problem. Another trick is to get some angle iron, small section, drill a hole right through the middle of the angle for the manifold stud (s) then trim the angle down enough so you can get the nut and washer on the stud. Okay for emergencies until you can get the right washers.

I've had that problem as well in the past. The answer.........? Use the angle grinder to get the thickness of both manifolds the same around where the stud nuts and washers go. No need for stepped washers that way and its a one time easy fix.
