Would love a mental Mini, but atm Im not too bothered, yeah I could get a vtec or red top engine in, but Im 17 and I can honestly say I would kill myself in it, I'll stick to racing the 1.1 crew

Bad news. Back in the garage - still leaking . Drivers side seems dry but the passenger side is still wet. At least i now know where it's coming in, it's through the sill. But how the spray is getting through the sill I have no idea! he promised me itl be ready by Friday so I can get it ready for the show on Sunday. Gonna be close though :/

I very much doubt its coming in through the sill unless you got some huge holes in them. It's probably leaking else where and forming in that area

Ie it is leaking elsewhere but it's finding it's way inside through the sill. I watched it come in. Question is where is it tracking from? Hopefully dave at the garage will find it. Fingers crossed!

Strip the carpets etc out and sit in the car and have some one hose down the mini, you'll soon find where its coming from

I can;t see how the water is coming UP through the sills/floor... unless as lawson said, you have some huge holes and it is spray. But if you had huge holes you would see them, also if it was road spray the water would be dark brown/almost black from all the mud/grit from the roads... The water in your pic is clean so is clearly rainwater coming in from above the pool. My guess would be one of the following: worn door seals, blocked door drainage holes, Shagged windscreen seal, leaking door catch strap hole, leaking hole where the heater pipe enters the car. Mine has leaked from alllll of those previously, and the leak always ends up in the passenger side floorpan/sill join. Replacing the entire floor section when possibly not needed will be a little silly to be honest. You could fix all of the items above for around £30-£50 at a guess. ;D If those dont work THEN look at the more expensive/time consuming things like cutting up panels etc.

I could add one thing to coedy's post....
I would check the fresh air vent entry from under the wing to behind the dash trim. I've seen rot there before and the water sprays up off the road wheel through the bulkhead and ends up in the footwell.
If you can, remove the wheel arch carpet and see if there are any signs of water and remove the dash trim and inspect the bulkhead area around the vent.

Wel we found a gaping hole on the driver side right on the seam between the floor pan and the bulkhead. It could be sealed but if I'm honest the floor pan has seen better days and the sill has been heavily patched an filled in the past so it needs doing. I should have done it with the test of the work but I convinced myself I didnt need to. As for the passenger side I have no idea Wer it's coming in. Thanks For all the suggestions and I've checked them all as best I can and it's all clear an bone dry at bulkhead level. Like I said before it only comes in after driving for 15 mins or so and I watched it coming in through the inner sill. I have no idea how the water is getting there but that's Wer it's cumin in. Again the sill should have done with the rest of the work as it's been patched, there's only 1 vent in it!!! To add to my misery the front driver wheel is rubbing my new wheelarch on nearly fool lock so me and my dad are gonna try an fix that tomorrow. On the plus side I've cleaned the car for the show on Sunday and can't wait!!! Lets just hope it don't rain

After searching and searching ive come to the conclusion that theres no way i can afford to re-do my seats so what about recovering them yourself? i know its risky but how hard can it be? anyone had experience of it in the past. Ive found a company on ebay who seem pretty good after checking there website. £240 for front and back vinyl cover and door panels. cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170602562324&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:ITQuestion is what colour scheme. It has to be black and grey so it matches with the rest of the interior but which one do you prefer? Bear in mind i have grey seat belts, grey dash rails and black carpet.(WARNING!!! Poor atempt at photoshop below ) told you it was bad!
