Watch out for mounting a front number plate that is not vertical. (especially the stickers on the bonnet type.) Just another reason for the "Boys in blue" to pull you over and look for other things

Yeah that did pass my mind looking at that picture... So if I de-bumper it does that mean I can't have the number plate as it is now, hanging vertically down?

well thers more to the debumpered look than just taking the bumper off, you got to grind down the lip on the front and back where the bumper sits to get the best out of the look

If you are going to grind them back dont grind too much off or you will find the front and rear valance panels will fall off Those lips are the method of fixing the panels together.

;D ;D ;D Knew a guy once who thought he'd de-seam his mini and just fill the gaps with body filler then respray. Everything was looking good till he went over a sleeping policeman a little fast one day and all the de-seamed joints opened up and the Mini literally "fell apart" !!!!!

Let's just say I hated technology in school, doing physical repairs to stuff really daunts me... My boxers are now soiled.

got to aggre with ljonez on this £250 does sound too good to belive
are you supplying the paint and primer and the addertives , and stripping the car for that price, if you are then its a very very good price
i paid £500 about 4 years ago but i stripped and rebuilt the car and that was every thing out and off, glass, doors boot bonnet etc

Yeah I know, stupidly low ain't it. Me and Callum went today to see our friend's Mini and he said he's done hundreds of cars and it's not a garage or anything so it just gives him some cash. I'll be supplying paint yeah. Maybe it'd be better to see some cars he's done first, but if he's good it's an offer that can't be refused.

as a rough guide prices going on what i paid 3 years ago 3ltr of decent primer £40 3ltr of solid paint £60-80 then you got the work involved if you want a proper job strip down 3-4 hours at a guess block sand entire car easily a day by hand or a few hours by machine first coat of primer 2 hours guide coat 1 hour block sanding of guide coat and filler depending on quality of the work easily a day more like 2 or 3 second coat of primer 2 hours top coat is about 6 hours in a booth leaving 20 min between coats depending on the finish block sanding and machine polish cant really give a time on that it depends on the finish then rebuild it another 5-6 hours so as a very min thats 35 hours work so say its £100 paint then you got about £20 in things like tack cloths, wet and dry etc etc so thats £130 for 35 hours work which is £3.71 an hour, im sorry buy i cant see any skilled man working for that rate edit just saw that your supplying the paint, still sounds cheap to me

Yeah, I know I'm gonna see how my friend's car comes out and ask him what the guy's other work is like too. Maybe try to see some of the cars he's done.
Worth considering though, get away from my PINK Mini ain't it, get a nice green one! :L
