Have recessed the speakers and sunk the CD's as far back as I can tho to minimise the damage Gonna tell Chris that the Mini is a 2 seater only !!! ;D

looking well smart mate, good job Cheers maddog, I'm reasonably pleased with it. Had a problem at 1st cos the rear seat base was bowed downwards on each side and I couldn't get the heelboard under the seat base Must have had some real heavyweights in the back at some point of its life A scissor jack and a block of wood soon straightened the seat base out tho !!!!! ;D

over charging?

The alternator was faulty and chucking out 17v which after 90 odd miles managed to overcharge and overheat the battery to the point where the battery boiled off its electrolyte and the cells warped with the heat, so shorting out and basically killing the battery !!! Solution? New alternator and new battery !!!

or you could just reconnect the altenator which would have saved me towing the thing back to home!

Given the "issues" you have had with the battery over the past week minimarine, I suggest you check the battery's electrolyte level as it will probably need topping up !!! Glad to hear its running OK tho and that you've got that permanent on your face !!! (If you think its good now, just wait till the summer comes around !!!
