Im not sure how easy it would be close off roads etc for that sort of rally.... They must have friends in high places to get permission to close off classic rallying routes... There was a scavenger hunt sort of thing in North Wales last year, on public roads, while they were open, the idea was to get to as many checkpoints as possible but checkpoints were only open for certain amounts of time and at certain places, there was no route you have to plan it yourself. The trouble is having 12 or so checkpoints (so like a relatively small course..) man'd all day would mean there would only be about 2 people entering because we just don't have enough active members right now.. Not to mention the fact people who get a bit carried away and get caught speeding could prove very badly against the club... If people like I will look into something as a possibility...?But would probably need quite a lot of cars to make it sensibly priced to enter/have a go... Also there is currently other activities that are considering being planned to get everyone out and about in their Minis over the coming year..

I'd turn up but wouldn't be racing... lol.. Roxie is built for comfort, not speed lol ;D I've fired off a few emails to local tracks/closed stages asking for prices and will post a topic when they get back to me. (or post them in here). If someone wants to organise a day then based off the prices I will pass over the info to them.

hope we do have some of these days through out the yeat Only if we have very deep pockets... lol.. Another club I am in looked at having a Pembrey trackday, They wanted £1600+ for the day to cover track maintenance, st johns, operating cost, etc... that was two years ago so can only have gone up.. lol... I've emailed a single stage rally route because they are quite small, unknown unless your in a motorsport club so they may be cheaper... then again they may be more expensive to keep the riff raff out... We can but try!!! ;D Even if the whole motorsports event thing goes under I personally plan on organising a couple of runs. so theres those to look forward to I guess.. lol. Not to mention any runs that any other members organise.. Dont forget if you fancy a Mini run, just choose a route, choose a date, post up a thread, wait, and then turn up at the convoy points you choose and drive! ;D No need to wait and hope that someone organises something close by to you...
