KP.......... Ok, seriously KP get your act together! Phoning the garage as i type, need to get them to sort this out. All last night he was cutting out, and losing power like its a problem with the fuel mixture, or like when there is water in dizzy (which it isnt any more, i think)... so

I've had similar problems with that black box as well Located where it is it gets water on it through the grill and its not a fully watertight unit. When I removed mine and stripped it down I found all the electrical connections inside were showing signs of water corrosion. You can buy just that box without having to buy a whole new dizzy. Thats what I did. Just remember to give it a good covering of silicon grease when fitting to make it as waterproof as you can to prevent the same thing happening again

well wd40 fixed that, but he's running like a dog.
its like he has water in the dizzy, but the garage fixed the cap so that it was sealed again and no water could get in :/
struggled getting it home earlier, just kangaroo-ing down the road, almost cutting out, power coming back and then power disappearing again... just like the dizzy has water in it.
help !!!

ok, will check that tomorrow in the light.
anything else i need to check for?? how is it still doing that if there is a sealed cap on dizzy?
is it anything to do with the mix? cos the garage were meant to fix that. i just cant understand how its sealed so well but still cutting out in the rain.
cant wait till it stops raining and then I can see if it does it in the dry!

The electronics box is bolted onto the side of the dizzy and not under the cap. It can still get water ingress or have corroded connections which might be the problem. Having the cap watertight was more important back when there were points in there. TBH If its not the electronic box that needs changing then I think your problem ls elsewhere.

will check it too. got a tidy list going from facebook and here!! plenty to check.
i dont want to go running back to the garage telling them they need to fix it for free if its not the dizzy cap sealing onto dizzy or the fuel mix... thats all i asked them to fix so i guess its only fair i check first that its not something else before i hassle them once again!!
