i topped up my dashpot oil and its made my acceleration worse haha, i put my foot down and it has no more power just feels like its going slower :L so i took some out again, what oil are you supposed to put in and how much?

Just fill the center tube up to the top with 20w50

I have heard that you should use a number of different oils in the dashpot, from "3 in 1" to ordinary engine oil. I was advised by an old "Classic Car" guru years ago to use ATF (Automatic Transmission Fluid) in SU's and thats what I have used in my Mini and the twin SU's on the MGB with no problems at all. I also know of others on here who have always used ordinary engine oil in there, again with no problems whatsoever.

ive used ordinary engine oil in my carb and i have to problems with it at all,so maybe you should give it a try
