is this what i need? www.minispares.com/Product.aspx?ty=pb&pid=35194When i had my stage 1 tuned he disconnected one end of the hose in the picture below and said i need a breather filter to go on the end of it. I think this is what i need but i thought i would check before buyig it. If it is the right type does anyone know of different ones, not sure if i like this one :/ Also....... what are peoples opinion on these. www.minispares.com/Product.aspx?ty=pb&pid=37262&title=there quite pricey but worth it if they do the job properly. Opinion? Thanks

Yep that will work, but the best option is to refit the pipe, those little filters get saturated in oil very quickly and stop "breathing" once this happens the crank case pressure increases and oil seals start leaking.
When the pipe is fitted it creates negative crank case pressure which helps prevent oil leaks etc

It fits on to a breather inlet on the carb. Removing the breather from the carb reduces the CO2 reading as there's no oil vapor being burnt ( nice way to cheat emmisions tests ) He probably removed it for the idle mix to seam weaker

Ah yeah forgot about them, Ive considered them before and I think their a good idea. A while ago there was a company (think it was dereks minis) and they where £60. But either way I'll probably get some soon.

I thought about getting them once too but on the older Mini's with the side rad there is the air vent grill on the inner wing and my Mini also has an electric fan under the wing. The problem with this is that the arch liner will, to some extent, reduce the airflow to/from the radiator so causing possible engine overheating. The other thing that put me off fitting them is that they would greatly reduce the amount of air getting up around the skuttle panel so making it damp for longer, which might increase the already bad rust problem that Mini's have up there. In a perfect Mini world you would expect the liners to keep the underwing areas dry and rust free but somehow I cant see that happening in the wet when the spray is coming off the wheels at warp speed! May be worth a try tho to see just how good (or bad!) they really are

The rad fans push/pull air into the wing from the rad. The liners still leave plenty of air gap which means any hot air can escape and any dampness can dry up
