Well as we all know, the 84' Mayfair I bought turned out to be a right lemon plum and as I'm almost ready to sit my test I havent the time skills or enthusiasm to repair it. So when this yellow beast came up in the for sale section I had to have a look! I went this evening to check him out, I made my old man get on the floor to check it out while I spoke to the owner, Turns out shes pretty damn solid ;D Even though he has oversills Well this is him.. He does need a few things doing to him, a bulkhead box has been fitted and just needs to be welded (a welder has been sourced & my old man can weld, woo) the engine needs to be bolted onto its mountings, manifold, carb and exhaust need to be put back on. The interior needs a tidy up and I need a new handle for the drivers door as its broke. It has a 1340 engine with a high lift cam, a racing head, and a straight cut gearbox, It has a plaque on the rocker cover saying "raced built and designed by gary worlsey" (Is he a name in engine building?) Has a fibreglass front end, and 13x7 superlights but they do look good. I've put a deposit down on him and will collect him this weekend or early next week. I've already named him Pac Man, as I intend to eat Saxos, Polos, 106s and most importantly my friends 1.1 C2. It also comes with Turbo goodies, and only needs the pipes to complete the job.. I shall update with piccys when I pick her up, over and out.

Not yet, I've gotta book it for a months time. Havent looked into it yet, but Im going to go with a classic policy so that should drop the price a lot, my only worry is the engine size, but its still registered as the 998, I may risk it, I may put my 998 in though.

Good luck with the insurance mate. Itl defiantly be more than what you paid for the car . It would be a shame to have to put the 998 in it though. Anyway, it looks fab!

And if you get caught then not only is your insurance void (you might as well not have it) it is a criminal offence and you can do serious time for it.

The lack of tappet chest covers and the position of thermostat housing will tell them its at least a 1275cc
