so this is my car, her name is stacey. shes a 1990 rover mini studio 2. she's got a 998cc engine. i'm in the middle of doing her up and making her look good haha. so i've bought new wheels and arches, and i'm gonna be giving her a spray job. so she'll be white with a black roof. then she should look good. then i'll sort out her horrible original interior. but that wont happen for a while. but just like any girl shes a pain because she makes me buy her new things by deliberately breaking them. so i've already had to replace an exhaust and 4 new shocks. had to buy her a new passenger door because the bottom of the one i got on now is rotting. and today i've seen that one of her ball joints need replacing and i think she needs a new cone cause her front right suspension is lower and it shouldnt be. i'll keep you all up to date with her spray job and when i put her arches on eventually. but with all the money spending and her breaking stuff on purpose i still like her enough to replace it all. so the work on my car will start next thursday and so my new arches, wheels and new spray paint will all be done. and the car shall be looking really nice.  |

dunno how many people are even interested in this post cuz no one is commenting it, but i'll keep whoever is interested up to date. so basically. i've been prepping the mini this weekend for its respray. so its all been sanded down and stripped ETC. had to replace the passenger door cuz it was rotten underneath. so we destroyed the door in the nicest way possible. but car will be sprayed tuesday at a mercedes restoration garage  which is super good (cuz the last car they restored was so good it sold for £800,000) so the spray and the finish should in theory be good. but i'll let you know and take some pictures when its done. but for now here is a few pictures of the prep. Looks like your doing well man. What colour is she going to be ? And what wheels and arches have you got in mind. There are some pretty cool group 5 euro arches going for 35 quid a set , ready to be sprayd I'm going to get myself a set at that price :-)

shes gonna be white with a black roof. i got 6 x 12 ultra lite wheels going on and wide group 2 arches. the door was horrible and incredibly weak.

At least, in theory you should save a few bob with the respray. Door looks ok to me. A bit of P38 and a lick of paint and no one would be the wiser.  |

soo... news on the car. my mate is doing my car now and is keeping it a big suprise for me and wont take pictures lol. so i'll have to wait and see what its like. also my mum is a legend and has bought me a few things so i got a new badge for the front, new chrome strip for the roof guttering. new bullet mirrors, carpet underlay and tomorrow she's gonna get me new number plates (because i ended up breaking my old one into a million pieces) and also my order 2 chrome strips for the side of my car to go on my group 2 arches. so hopefully the car should look pretty neat. and you'll all get to see her at mini at the bay if you are all going. |

got new ones to put on her anyway. but need to get the angle grinder out for them to fit. so they will be on soon.

Bit of news. Decided the wheels and arches are a pain in the neck so I'm keeping my old ones on. All the electricals have messed up such as my brake light has some how turned into my side lights and vice versa.I need to fit mirrors and bumper. And get new bulbs for the lights cuz they blew up.
