Here's a pic of my 63 Rally Mini being thrashed over Deer's Leap, the graveyard of dozens of rally cars over a few decades. Needless to say, but i survived the landing and went on to finish in one piece, just

It was difficult enough to finish an Epynt rally let alone get a class finish. I mislaid a load of results books when i moved out of the family home so i couldn't tell you what position i ended up. What i can tell you though,is, ADRENALIN smells, ;D

Wahay. I found one of my favourite pics at last. This pic was taken at Llandow and i believe was the last event for this poor, badly abused Mini. The car was re-shelled into a slab front straight after this event so it was being thrashed mercilessly. ;D ;D ;D

The suspension was absolutely shot to bits, especially the rear end. Llandow was very wide in some places, so it was brains out time.

Is Llandow the circuit near Cowbridge? That was then abandoned for years wasn't it? Great pictures too.

So, After thrashing the the MK1 to within an inch of it's hard worked life, i reshelled what was worth salvaging into a 1275GT shell. This pic was taken at Pembrey and i think it was the Mini's 1st outing. Could explain why it's so clean and fresh looking. Can you spot whats wrong with the doors???

Internal hinges and sliding glass Aye. You sussed it. I modified the standard doors by binning most of internals, welded a strip of steel plate where the glass used to poke through and then added a MK1 type sliding rail and then cut perspex to suit. Hey Presto, lightweight steel doors.
