A mate of mine has decided to go ahead and create the independent Online Mainstream Cooper Register. The idea is to have a site that is completely dedicated to this often forgotten Mini Cooper Model. It's not really intended as another "chat forum", but something more along the lines of a detailed database. Hopefully this will become a place where people can find information on just about anything to do with the model including the standard spec and technical spec. Using a forum format the hope is to create probably the first register that is actually 100% assessable to its members. Members will have the ability to create a detailed profile of their car that anyone and every one can see. We have also devised a way to safeguard peoples registration and VIN numbers that still allows us to include them (or part of them) in the profiles. When the site begins to grow, hopefully we can use all this gathered information to get a full understanding of this model. The Good news is it's 100% free. To visit the site, click the link below, you will find the link to the forum at the side of each page. www.mainstreamcooper.co.uk

Hope it's okay posting an ad for it, but I said I'd help my mate out and I know that JC1380s might find it interesting and considering he has a very special version then it would be great if it was added to the register. The BRG Cooper shown at the top of the Mainstream Spec page was owned by an old mate of mine too and some of you may remember it?

Like I said in the other thread in "Other Clubs": - I thought it worth mentioning that the Mainstream Cooper Register now has a section dedicated to ex-Mainstream Mini Cooper owners titled "Mainstream Memories". So if you (or you know someone else who is) are a former owner of one of these marvellous machines, then why not join up? You're not obliged to provide any information if you don't want to, but it'll be safe enough providing you disguise you're registration number so it appears like this example: - A###ABC, instead of: - A123ABC and also replace the last 3 digits of you're VIN and Engine numbers with a ###. It would also be nice to hear about any stories you have and perhaps a few pictures of you're old Mainstream too. Oh and this picture appeared on the Register and it once belonged to an old mate of mine, jc1380s & Dai9fsay: -

I just wanted to say that the on-line Mainstream Cooper Register has been a big success so far with members giving very positive feedback to the site. Thanks to one of the members, we now have a brand new and much more professional website. The forum is still the same but now you can view it directly from the site: - www.mainstreamcooper.co.ukI've updated all the other links to it, so please will you update any that have been added elsewhere, such as on the home page. Cheers, Taffy
