i know what you mean about that roundabout, and its not just the mini that they aim for...!!! ive been cut up on it in the deli as well....its a real pig of a place to get round, glad you wernt hurt, if the insurance do write it off can you buy it off them and fix it yourself?

Thanks for your concern people. Im still distressed!! It could have been alot worse. My drivers side back quarter has got a pretty big dent and a load of rubber marks where his wheel hit me. The arch has cracked away from the body and its pretty chipped and mashed. Theres a chunk out of my sill too. Im surprised she held up so well... tough little bugger! Im gonna try and claim on the insurance, but because of the age of the car, Ive been told the chances of finding anyone to repair it are slim, seeing as market value is 200 quid!! So Ive told them that there's no way I'll let her get written off, I'd rather cancel the claim and get my dad to fix it. It's so narking though...you pay your insurance every year, have an accident thats not your fault, and end up paying for repairs youself or car-less!! What could I buy with 200 quid?! Sod all! I couldnt even get a push bike for that. Sigh. Im ok, Ive been to the hospital about my neck, wrist and elbow. Hopefully I'll be able to hold the swine accountable for it in that way. I still cant believe it. Makes you think twice before getting into your pride and joy.

Argh that sucks dont cancel the claim, give his insurance as much of a kick up the arse as hes given your mini. they tried writing my mini off a few years ago because some bint parked inmy passenger door on a roundabout. they said it wasnt ecenomical to repair because the door skin was dented... =/ got my mum down to the assesors with me (the gift of the gab). she dug her heels in, said its impossible to get a half tidy shell for 20. door skins cost well less than 100. etc etc etc. basically we wernt going to leave his office if the car was written off. so he gave us cash in lue (spelling?). basically they give you some money (not really enough to fix it really) and they keep the car as being road legal. (if it is road legal). better than a kick in the teeth =/ but still not the best of results. also make sure you put in your statement that he was arogant etc and that may help people see how much distress etc youve been through? maybe sympathy? if its got an agreed value on it nows the time to keep repeating that phrase im afraid. also if your tests on your neck/wrist/etc come back with as much as a blemish on them kick up a fuss about those aswell. if he was being arsey and find him in the wrong then make sure he knows about it for years to come how bad is the rearquarter/sills? sounds like it could have dinked your rear subframe mount =/

im sorry for you both, you and the car,, BUT, your ok, thats number one! firstly calm down, and get yourself over it, its only a car, (a nice car, i admit) then make a claim calmly and clearly!
are there any witnesses? did you take photos of where you ended up? and the dick ended up ? and of course the damage?
the mini can be sorted, by the sounds of it i hope!, let us know the out come, if your insurance company is anywhere decent they,l hire you a car while yours is getting sorted by his insurance! , i,l keep my fingers crossed for you,,,,,,,,

Urch this makes me sick, how can people be so bloody arrogant when they've just driven into what is obviously a special car, and can see that the other driver is more than a little upset about it having caused damage to their pride and joy?! Also I hate insurance, beacuse at the end of the day you will probably end up out of pocket, wether down to them not paying out or you losing a no claims and them rocketing your premiums up! I'm dealing with the insurers at the moment, about a minor accident that happened back on the third of march!! Only just reared its head again after months of silence from both parties, the amount that they've shelled out for the person I almost seriously damaged is utterly ridiculous! Not trying to protect myself here, but the damage caused was a light friction burn about a milimeter thick and a few inches long, and some paint scuff down on the bottom rear bumper. Simple, almost t-cuttable damage and the settlement came to.... wait for it.... £518.49!!!!!!

Sorry for neglecting this thread! I havent really heard alot from the insurance company since I rang them on the day it happened. I've been mega preoccupied with uni work though...had my last exam yesterday!! The "triage nurse" rang me and asked about my injuries so I told her everything, and tomorrow I've got a pile of paperwork to fill in. Im gonna ring Endsleigh tomorrow too, to find out if the bloke has been in touch with his insurance and whatnot. The Min isnt looking too bad at all now that Ive got the rubber marks off her. I think because the arch is fibreglass, it absorbed most of the impact. The crack he gave me, I thought the whole side had caved in. Im super lucky!! Oh and thanks for the comments on the paintwork Lawson! I'll tell my Dad, he'll be chuffed! Haha! I'll let you all know what the insurance company has to say for themselves tomorrow.

Nothing much to update you on folks. I've discovered that Lawson was right and Endsleigh are a bit of a waste of space. They basically told me to get hold of the solicitor, cos they cant be bummed. Solicitor said he sent a letter to the third party's insurance but there has been no response as yet. So I'm pretty much in limbo at the moment. I sent my personal injuries forms off though, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Got physio tomorrow too. Oh and my MOT is up on the 17th June, so if I don't hear something soon, le dad will have to be called on to do a patch up job. I'll be riding around looking like a patchwork quilt again, but at least she's on the road!
