On longer runs, if i remember, i make a note of the mileage and try to work out the MPG for that journey. The Bristol mini day run worked out at roughly 45 / 46 Miles to the gallon. I tanked the Beige one to the brim which is 5.5 gallons and I've still got about 3/4 of a gallon left in da tank. Not bad for a 40 year old car.

i havnt worked mine out... ever... but i filled it to the brim before leaving for bristol and when i got home it was just under half a tank left. i think im going to buy myself an aldon dizzy, spangley new coil, ignitor kit, lightened duplex timing kit and put her in for a rolling road. that should make the mpg increase shouldnt it?

Yep, It should give you more MPG. Any Mini, whatever the age will benefit from a tune up and with those trick ignition bits added will certainly help.

After the mileage we did on the L2B run, Bristol Mini Day was like a local show in comparison. So we still have more than half a tank of petrol left. It was quite shocking seeing that caravan and the car pulling it on it's side just after the Bridge though.
