Hi guys...
Herb is most definatly "Herbert!" at the mo! (The name I give him when he is being bad!)
Changed the heater unit over the other day... the old motor had stopped working. After much cursing under the bonnet trying to release the bottom hose off the radiator. I could not get my hand and a screwdriver in the space provided to slacken off the clamp. Then I caught my head on the bonnet catch! So I decided to not drain the entire system. I took the carpets out and proceeded to unhook the hoses inside the car, with a specially placed washing up bowl. Then I put the heater bought at the Bristol Mini day in.
So finally got it all sorted, heater blowing and warming up nicely. Topped up the system. All running well.
That was until yesterday... driving along thinking..."Thats a funny smell, why is my foot getting wet?"
Sure enough the heater matrix is shagged!! So once again the whole thing has to come out. I have now butchered the two knackered heater units into one decent working heater. The matrix from the original and the blower from the £4 bargain one!
Fingers crossed thats all sorted now.
If anyone needs any of the shell let me know... or the switch unit etc etc.
Now just need to sort the Hazards, Main Beam Flasher, Horn etc etc out!

Hi Looser
Most people would have put the original good matrix into the `new` blower unit, that would have saved you getting soaking wet changing it twice in the rain he he, but then who am I to tell you what to do !!!!!!!! Yes I`m watching your everymove.....and for the last time CHECK the fuses...properly. Bloody kids !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, Pauld... if someone had distonnected the battery (Basic good mechanic skills) before sticking his greasy sausage hand into the switch panel and sparking the wires together, I would not be in this situation now!! Silly hobbit!
Was out in the rain again this morning! The bloody wipers had died... It was just a fuse, so swapped it and they work now. Everything else is still dead though!? Heading down to Halfrauds to get some fuses tonight... hopefully this will sort the gremlins out!

I did not stick my hands into the switch panel I was carrying out a very tec job which required me to think alot...the wires then flew out of my hand on there own and caused a slight spark to arc across to the body work of the car...this was out of my control and deff nothing to do with me..if you had been there helping instead of swanning around s/wales looking for wheel nuts this would have never happened

well Mr D... It was an inline fuse... a spade jobber... it was hidden under the back lip of the engine bay. For some reason it was not going through the fuse box?? But we are getting there slowly!!
