ah, that makes more sense... i went to the trouble to fit a new rear valance, and it was pretty straight forward- except for the 1 snapped bolt

after a little 'tapping' the wart has now become a hole:(
does it need replacing now?

my mini restoration manual has a section of welding subframes, so ok in myopinion, plus you wont see it come mot time....whenever that is

why would you want to refit something that is rusty in the past subframes have been welded yes but if you already have it off then it seems to make more sense to replace with a better item

Totally agree with minimiglia0 on that point - the hard work is done already in taking the rotten subframe off.
If you put a new or good one on now think of how long it will be before you have to do it all again!!!

By the time you mess about welding it up year on year, get a new one and have done with it. Rear subframes were selling at hundred quid at the british mini day.

a repair it is then...solely because i cant warrant that sort of outlay at the mo...
