The more heavily rusted areas need 2 applications or more with the Deox Gel. It is supposed to be laid on at least 1 > 2 mm thick which is not easy with a brush. Might be easier with a spatula and ladle it on. Practise makes perfect i suppose. As for the Deox C i'll post pics up tomorrow. But, use hot water to disolve the granules. It's far faster.

Bilt Hamber also do an Etch Primer. So do a load of other suppliers i hear you say. The difference with this Etch Primer is that it is a WELD THROUGH Etch Primer. Brilliant.

wow, and its £9 a litre you said?
im strongly considering getting some, even though i dont really need it yet but when we change my back subby we can dip stuff in as we need it. how do you get it off after? just rub it off/wipe it off?

Just wash the stuff off with clean water. It's so simple, it hurts.

and how long should you leave it work its magic per cycle? (you said you have to re-do it if its really rusted). does it take the paint off aswell?

It works better if there is no paint on the article you're trying to de-rust. When using the Deox-C i usually leave it overnight. I take the parts out to give them a quick wire brush, wash them, and if there is any rust left, i bung it back in the pot for another soak.
