Spoke to phil the other day about painting my dash and door cards, he had done something similir which looked the biz. Any thoughts on this product or any other

I have just sepnt about 8 hours changing the interior of my wifes nissan figaro. There is a hard plastic headlining made of smaller interlocking panels which have a vinyl look to them (textured) but they are painted to match the cream leather interior. The only problem is after 17 years in japan where everyone smokes 60 a day, the nicotine and damp (as it is a convertable in the UK) breaks down the paint until anything you touch sticks to you, also dirty hand prints (my 7 y.o. daughter) end up all over the panel and you can't just wipe them off. So I removed all the panels and the rear leather/vinyl door cards and wiped the plastic over with thinners (the only thing able to touch the paint) and soapy washed the vinyl and then painted it all with vinyl paint from a paint suppliers (£10.20 for a large aerosol) I used 3 off them which is not cheap as I still need to do the dash and lower kick panels and have run out but boy what a transformation. It now looks brand new and no more sticky panels. I have even changed the colour slightly cos the cream was too light and I wanted to match the inner convertable skin. I'll get some pics up tomorrow but I would say it has deffinately added some serious value to a below par interior.

Here's a few quick pics if anyone is interested in the vynil spray. Not brilliant pics but they say it all. Flexible grab handle which does not crack. Scuse the seatbelt shadow.

Thanks guys, it really is perfect. Just Mike to paint her now and me to fit a new hood and recolour the leather with glyptol (liquid leather) and she'll be better than new. Pictures really don't do her justice, there is no mismatch in colour at all, and it really does look like new.

Car Paints on Bridgend trading estate just opposite the side entrance to Harman Motive/Harman becker or whatever they are now. Cost £10.20 per aerosol plus vat or they can do it in a tin to be put through a paint gun. Really fast drying and cleaned down the panels with thinner (or you could use spirit wipe). I still need to do the dash and kick panels, I may even do the door seals. They can match up to 14000 colours or something mad like that. You can find them at the address below, very helpful too.

I think it helps that I've sprayed it a colour which could be mistaken for cream leather as there is a texture in it and it is not shiny as gloss paint would be. It is an amazing finish though. I might get the spare head linig from the advantage which is in the garage and paint it cream to show the quality of the finished job and post a few picys.
