That looks right yeah, the interior is the same, i'm missing the decals though. Does anyone know how many were made? I'm not clued up on coopers at all. Well I don't know if there's any records of numbers built for the John Cooper Garages conversions as such, because many a Rover dealer was carrying out the task. I think it was only those Limited Edition models in that brochure above, plus the Mini 30 LE that ever got converted as such? The 1990 versions of the Mini Racing Green and Flame Red (plus the Check Mate) came with the Minilite style alloy wheels as standard, plus they had the sportier classic 3.44 final drive instead of the (by then) more common 3.1. The earlier 1989 versions had plastic wheel trims and the 3.1 final drive. You could always contact Classic Minis Coopers, because the owner Mike Raven took all the John Cooper Garages classic Mini stuff after JCG closed down. Mike was also an ex-JCG employee and he may know more? www.classicminis-online.co.uk/Apart from that, there's also these articles which relate to the JCG Conversion: - z11.invisionfree.com/mainstreamcooper/index.php?showtopic=198z11.invisionfree.com/mainstreamcooper/index.php?showtopic=295But since there were only a few thousand or so of those LE Minis built and probably only a fraction of those that got converted, then they are indeed rare Minis now. So look after it.

hello people luke sin band prac so i thought id post on his behalf plus he wouldnt know becauses he is luke um the conversions are john cooper garages ones , everythings original and weve been told very rare. we gave it another clean yesturday and brought it all up nicely ready to be polished n that dont think luke can wait until he can bring it to a meet to be part of the club properly as for the neon boycie its still needing the front end on then itll be resprayed luke can up date the rest when hes back !

The engine is 'pinking' at the moment, whatever that means! Before I drive it outside of barry it'll have to be sorted, the engine timed and everything apparently.

Check the oil level in the Dashpots. Unscrew those black plastic round things on top of the Carbs. Top up with SAE 20 oil to within 1/2 inch of the top of the tube.

Thanks, done that, it must be the fuel in the tank is pretty old, or the timing.
