can anyone justify why a mini 1000 is group 1.a sprite is group 3 and a cooper is all the way up at group 8?

personally don't mind group 8 for our cooper as usually most my cars are alot higher group, like the idea of 1000cc only being group 1 ( kernals insurance here we come ) if ever i finish it that is

my saxo vtr was only group 7. i cant be certain but i would have thought the VTR would have had a much better alarm and imobilser than a mini, therfore harder to nick so in a lower band. could be wrong tho
